Over 50% of French, and the vast majority of women choose their contraceptive method alone without always having enough information about different methods of contraception.
A BVA survey-INPES, on “French and contraception” dated March 2007 states that “The majority of people of reproductive age use contraception and the contraceptive pill is the most used (58%), followed condoms (28%) and IUDs (21%).
* The survey reveals that information on conditions of use and effectiveness of different methods are not always well integrated and that many women still too often misunderstand how to use emergency contraception.
