A program to eliminate acne

According to the latest researches, about 85% of young people experience some degree of acne. In the majority of cases, the problem is mild and does not last too long. But for many millions going through their teen years, acne can be a serious problem. As a clarification, acne is not a disease but, because of the psychological damage caused to those who have it, it has become the focus of attention from both the medical profession and the pharmaceutical industry. So, what should you do if you or your family start to show the first signs?

You can use some product to remove surface oil and some of the bacteria. But, in line with this refusal to panic, you must not wash the skin more often or scrub at it with abrasives. Wash no more than once in the morning and last thing at night. Use a soap without any miracle ingredients that might irritate the skin. Never rub the skin excessively. One cleaning product that many find helpful is benzoyl peroxide. This only costs a few dollars and helps to keep the surface of the skin healthy. If the spots continue to form, the next step is a retinoid cream which encourages the skin to shed the top layer of dying cells more rapidly. The stronger versions of this product are only available on prescription. If in doubt, prefer products and drugs that contain vitamin A. This has been shown to be the most effective active ingredient.

If everything else has no effect, the drug to turn to is accutane. This is a powerful drug that succeeds in a high percentage of cases during the first period of treatment. If there is residual acne, it succeeds on the second period of treatment. While its use is within normal risk levels for men to use, it should only be used by fertile woman if real precautions are taken. In both laboratory tests and real world experience, there is a one-third chance this drug will damage a fetus.

In United States, the iPledge program is standard. If you propose to use accutane, you should take absolute precautions to prevent conception. All doctors supervising the program will test women before, during and for three months after the period of treatment to confirm birth control measures are being taken. The risk of birth defects is simply too high to take any other course. Although women can buy this drug through an online pharmacy without a prescription, it should still be used responsibly.

Treatments for fibromyalgia

This is one of the “mystery” diseases or disorders. Those that have it report exhaustion and a constant dull ache but, no matter how many tests are performed, your doctor says there’s nothing wrong with you. The tests come back “normal”. This is frustrating and annoying because the traditional view is then to class you as a psych case. Like that’s a constructive response. So let’s start with what we know. No-one knows what triggers it. People say it comes on after both physical injuries and emotional traumas. Some researchers speculate that people can be genetically predisposed to develop it. Others believe it is a viral disease. No matter what its cause, the result is greatly increased sensitivity to pain. It’s as if the brain is overreacting to pain signals.

Once it appears, it’s a chronic condition with long-lasting pain in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. It particularly affects the back of the head, the neck, shoulders and upper chest, and the major joints in the arms, hips and legs. Your body is also likely to develop tender spots where even the slightest of touches causes pain. You lose stamina, feeling exhausted after any form of activity, no matter how trivial. Sleep is disrupted and people wake not feeling properly rested, There seems to be a gender difference with women more likely than men to develop the disorder. Estimates of the number of people who have this set of symptoms varies but the best guess is that it affects about 2% of the adult population in the US.

Because this disorder is associated with depressive conditions, it’s quite common for doctors to prescribe antidepressants. Not only does this sometimes improve the mental attitude to the continuing pain, it can also help people to get more sleep. But the main medication strategies resolve around the use of painkillers and anti-seizure drugs. Depending on the level of pain you experience, the doctor will either start you off with a relatively low-powered NSAID or pick an opioid. With a reduction in the sensitivity to pain, sleep is improved and, as side effect, this relieves the general exhaustion and improves the mood. One or two of the anti-seizure drugs initially approved and used for epilepsy have now been granted FDA approval for use in the treatment of fibromyalgia.

The best hope, however, lies in a combination of physical therapy, counseling and skelaxin. This drug is most useful because it both relaxes the musculature and acts as a sedative. This both relieves the symptoms of ache in the major muscle groups and supports better sleep. But the use of a drug on its own is not enough. A physical therapist should teach basic sets of exercises to stretch the muscles and restore tone. More importantly, a cognitive behavioral therapist should teach you coping strategies. You must learn how to get the most out of your life within the new physical limits. Positive thinking is required to strengthen the belief in your ability to improve and to avoid situations in which there might be stress. Overall, the aim should be to exercise regularly, pace yourself through the day, get enough sleep and reduce the sources of stress in your life. This combination of skelaxin and counseling is now the preferred treatment regime.

Your eyesight is not at risk

When I was growing up, my parents and other adults took up the challenge of trying to educate me in the ways of sex. It was dangerous work, but someone had to do it. One of the first pieces of advice that stuck concerned the activity of masturbation. Although no-one would give me a demonstration of what this thing was, I was led to understand that too much of it and I would go blind. Naturally, being of a stubborn disposition, I decided to keep the activity going, hoping I was only risking one eye. This is a classic use of fear and guilt to encourage people to modify their behavior. It came alongside a similar warning that watching too much television was also bad for my eyesight. Apparently, the cathode ray tube gave off radiation that would rot the lenses and turn my retinas to jelly. Or was it that my retinas were a kind of jelly and, as with a microwave, they would be cooked and stop admitting light. The details are hazy but the message was clear. The combination of television and sex were bad for the eyesight.

Coming forward to the new century and the FDA began to receive reports through the post-marketing monitoring program that some men were experiencing problems with their eyesight when using the little blue pills. Because they were blue pills, the men claimed their vision was tinged with blue and sometimes blurry. Actually, I made that up. The men made no such claim but their vision was tinged with blue. The reason was that PDE6 changes the way the retina works and the little blue pills are designed to affect PDE5 which is in the penis. Unfortunately, the pill is not always specific, what with sex and eyes being so closely connected.

At first, this was not thought to be a serious problem but it became so when one or two men reported actual vision loss. In a billion dollar US market, the notion that men may go blind is dangerous to future sales, so an immediate new clinical trial was ordered. Well, men can relax again (except after taking the pill, of course). This October has seen the publication of the report from a six month trial. In a double-blind, randomized trial, two-thirds of the participants took the real drug and one-third took a placebo. At the end of six months, there was no measurable difference in the eyesight of the participants in both groups. Allowing for natural ageing, their eyesight was unchanged from start to finish.

It’s a little ironic after all these years to see real panic at the notion that too much sex using viagra will make you go blind. My parents would have appreciated the temporary support to their own threats relating to masturbation. Although I do admit to having to wear spectacles these days, I am no different from the millions of older men. We Boomers wear our fading eyesight with pride. Despite all the sex over the years, we have managed to make it this far with only minor short-sightedness. With a little help from viagra when our muscles tire, we can expect to enjoy many more years of sex (or, at least, we can all risk one eye with that aim in mind).

Learn how to file an insurance claim

Filing an insurance claim: step by step

Many people are confused when an accident takes place and become a bit stressed when it comes to filing a claim. Especially if there’s no previous experience in dealing with insurance companies. To make it much easier and less stressful for you, here is a step-by-step guide on how to file an auto insurance claim:

1. Decide whether you need to file the claim at all. Simple fact is that you contact your insurance company with simple questions about filing a claim it is already introduced into your personal record and regarded as a claim. And having more entries in your record simply means your rates will go up. So try to keep your number of claim entries as low as possible. No matter whether it was your fault or not in the accident, you should first ask yourself if you can pay for the damages on your own. If the answer is positive and you can cover the damages without serous financial problems then don’t file the claim at all. Insurance assistance should only be used in cases when there’s no other choice.

2. Provide as much accurate information as possible. If you have decided that filing a claim is inevitable then try to include all the necessary details into your report. If there were any witnesses, try to obtain information from them. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for the insurance company to process your claim and cover your losses. Remember, that the information should be accurate and true because if it’s not, the company may refuse paying at all.

3. Try filing the claim as soon as possible to make sure it’s processed properly and on time. Keep in mind that your insurance company will start processing it only when you apply, even if you’re not at fault. So the sooner the better, especially if you have to cover serious damage or injury.

4. Be prepared for another insurance provider to contact you. In case there’s a dispute between your insurance provider and the other party’s insurance company after the accident you may be contacted by the other insurer to provide your point of view on the accident. If this takes place try documenting or recording the whole conversation and writing down the name of the person you were talking with. It may be very useful in case there are any complications or legal action taken in the situation. Which may be possible even if you have cheap car insurance.

5. Getting your vehicle repaired at last. In case your auto suffered body damage during the accident it will only be after the insurance company has processed the claim that you will get it fixed. Typically, when your claim was processed and approved your insurance company will contact you and indicate sending your car to specific body shops after the insurance adjuster has evaluated the damage. Some claims get processed faster than the others, depending on how complicated your situation was with the accident and how many parties have been involved. Some people think that having cheap car insurance will make the process longer compared to more costly policies, but It isn’t so.
